First of all, a moment of truth. There's nothing literally green about this ice. I just thought the phrase 'Green Ice' might catch your eye :) and I propose that the term 'Green Ice' be used to refer to ice that is created using a minimal amount of machinery and energy and is used for Thermal Energy Storage.
To that end the intention of this blog is to advance the notion of creating ice using low carbon footprint and energy conserving methods ( i.e. 'green' methods) for providing air conditioning, dehumidification and refrigeration for homes and businesses. If the implementation of these ideas can be carried out by a reasonably handy person as do-it-yourself projects, so much the better!
My hope is that this blog will contain resources and discussion regarding the use of ice as an energy storage medium.
